Narrative
After the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, makes a play to take control of Gotham’s criminal underworld. Colin Farrell and Christine Miliotti talk about what it’s like in the underworld. Colin Farrell fought hard to make his version of the Penguin smoke in Batman (2022), but it didn’t work out. In his own series, however, the character is portrayed as an occasional smoker who prefers cigars.
Pharrell STEALS this series
The DC Studios logo takes place in a rainy Gotham alley. The umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Starring Graham Norton and guests: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024).
He is impressive
There is nothing in the character that even hints at Farrell. The New York accent, the sway and limp, the attitude: you’d swear he was a different person. The amazing prosthetics are very realistic and complement the character. The presentation is crude and graphic.
Well written and concise
There is nothing cartoonish about it. It’s a great match for Christopher Nolan’s Batman. In fact, I’d say it blows the Marvel line out of the water. I wish they had a season 2 but I know it’s limited.
HBO has a legitimate hit on its hands
That’s unfortunate. See the summary of "Yellowstone" Season 5, Episode 2, "Squid Game" Season 2 and more of the most anticipated new and returning series coming to TV and streaming.
