Narrative
It follows Catherine Ravenscroft, a television documentary journalist whose work is built on exposing the transgressions of long-respected institutions. The exceptionally talented Russian Blue cat in the Ravenscroft household improvised all of his actions and dialogue.
I have never read the book, so I judge the series as a standalone
In several episodes, Jonathon uses the same lens throughout the series, a medium-length telephoto lens. Such a lens would be incapable of focusing on close-up subjects, such as selfies with Sasha or in the bedroom with Catherine.
The series is too long, too drawn out
It was intriguing and mysterious in the first few episodes, but by episode five, I was like, “Oh my God, just wrap it up.” Catherine’s silence/constant interruptions as she tries to tell her side of the story seem like a plot device to keep the story moving forward. Clearly setting up for a “twist.” The constant, detailed sex scenes are just yuck.
I don’t mind sex scenes, but if I want to watch “detailed” sex scenes that last ten minutes, my first choice for that wouldn’t be Apple TV+
Literally porn.
