Overcoming their own powers, Team Sonic must seek an unlikely alliance
Narrative
Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails reunite to face a new powerful foe, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike any they’ve faced before. The creators of the previous films have mentioned playing both Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2001) and Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) as a solo game for inspiration.

The film was also inspired by narrative elements from the Saturday morning animated television series Sonic the Hedgehog (1993). In the television series, Knuckles said, “Robotnik is gone, and there is no new battle to fight.” But in this film, he tells Tails and Knuckles that they must ask Dr.
